Preethi Pal made history by winning India's first-ever track medal at the Paris Paralympics. Inspired by Paralympic videos she watched six years ago, the Uttar Pradesh sprinter claimed bronze in the women's 100m T35 final with a personal best of 14.21 seconds on August 30. She finished behind China's Zhou Xia, who took gold with 13.58 seconds, and Guo Qianqian, who won silver with 13.74 seconds. Preethi surged from fourth to third in the final 30 meters.
