A Chinese Navy survey vessel briefly entered Japanese waters on Saturday, Japan's defense ministry reported. The ship was detected off the coast of Kagoshima Prefecture at around 6 a.m. local time (2100 GMT Friday) and left by 7:53 a.m. This marks the tenth time in the past year that a Chinese Navy survey ship has entered Japanese waters. Including submarines and intelligence-gathering vessels, it has happened 13 times, according to NHK.
