Starting June 1, 2024, driving tests can be taken at private driving training centers instead of government RTOs. This aims to reduce pollution by phasing out old government vehicles and enforcing stricter car emission rules. The fine for speeding remains Rs 1000-2000, but minors caught driving will face a Rs 25,000 fine, loss of the vehicle's registration, and a ban on obtaining a license until age 25. The Ministry has also simplified the documentation required for new licenses.
