Bharti Airtel has acquired a 1% equity stake in Indus Towers, a telecom infrastructure company, following Vodafone Group's sale of nearly 20% of its shares. The acquisition involved purchasing 2.695 crore shares through on-market transactions, as disclosed in a stock exchange filing. Before this transaction, Bharti Airtel held 47.95% of Indus Towers. During trading on Wednesday, Bharti Airtel's stock price dropped by about 1.21% to Rs 1,411.
