Andretta, a village in the Himalayas near Dharamshala, has a rich artistic history. In 1924, Irish actress Norah Richards arrived and transformed it into an artist's haven. Richards had moved to India in 1911 with her husband, a teacher at Dyal Singh College. After his death in 1920, she returned to India, bought land in Kangra Valley, and established Andretta. The village attracted artists like potters, musicians, writers, and actors, including Prithviraj Kapoor. Today, Andretta continues to host artists and draw tourists.
